Tests of the Gyro Path NSG were completed during December 2019 and January 2020 at the Halliburton Drilling Technology Facility in Cameron, Texas. A total of 8 runs were performed with single and dual gyro tools within the string, including drop gyro and slickline applications. The results were compared to third party gyro and MWD – all Gyro Path measurements were within the expected tolerance as published in the Error Model for the device.
Patrick Knight, Technical Advisor for Halliburton Sperry Drilling, summarized the results:
“The performance of the Gyro Path tool lies within the expected results determined by the IPM applicable to the tool configuration”
