KB003: Cannot find Xnnnnnn.SEQ file.

This article applies to DOS software only. It does not apply to Palm or Windows software.

At the start of every survey, the HI program creates a file called Xnnnnnnn.SEQ where nnnnnnn is a sequential number. The name of this file is stored in the tool. When you enter a hole identifier or request a shot at a certain depth, this information is written to the .SEQ file. If you log several holes as part of one multishot survey, then all the hole name information and depths are stored in the single .SEQ file.

All depths entered in the .SEQ file are given a time stamp. The HI and INCLIN programs use the time stamps in the .SEQ file and the time stamps on the shots in the tool to match up the desired shots with the operator-entered depths.

The location of the .SEQ files is always the same as the location of the program, irrespective of where you are storing the results files.

If you start the survey on one computer and perform the download on second computer, the second computer will not have the required .SEQ file and will not be able to extract the information relevant to each survey.
