Benefits
Our tools help you complete your projects in less time without costly delays.
Borehole deviation tools designed to make your life easier. Icefield Tools and its staff have been designing, manufacturing, and marketing state-of-the-art electronic borehole surveying tools since 1990. We are a company with a long track record and we stand behind our products.
Field-serviceable
Our design philosophy is that equipment should be field-serviceable to the greatest extent possible. This is why we incorporate features into our products to ensure that clients can solve minor problems in the field. For example:
- Batteries are field-replaceable AA alkaline batteries that can be found anywhere in the world.
- For the MI3, the interface device is an off-the shelf Palm® device. Almost any model of Palm, old or new, will work with our instruments. Should your Palm device malfunction, chances are you can obtain a replacement locally.
- Though we might use wireless IrDA (infrared) or Bluetooth® interfaces, our instruments always have a hard-wired cable option. Cables may be inconvenient and subject to breakage, but unlike a "black-box" interface, there is almost always someone on-site who can repair a cable.
Rugged design
We do not skimp on materials. Our instruments are built using corrosion-resistant, solid materials such as Inconel® and silicon bronze. Using these materials ensures that your equipment will have a long life.
Accuracy
Our tools meet or exceed the specifications of our competitors. We have an active research and development program developing new, and improving old technology.
Simple to operate
Our software is menu-driven, logically laid out, and simple to use. Even non-computer literate operators can use the our MI3 Palm® software.
Saves you time and money
If you are using single-shot or photomechanical instruments, you will be amazed at the amount of time that can be saved in obtaining a detailed survey of your boreholes using Icefield Tools equipment. There are hard cost savings in rig time as well as intangible savings in data quality and quantity.
